In recent years the modelling industry has vowed to become more diverse, with agencies promising to include more average sized women instead of pressuring models to adopt the traditional super-skinny' look. However, as model Rosalie Nelson found when she visited one agency, this so-called 'diversity' is yet to be implemented.
At Size 8 and weighing 58kg, Rosalie was told that she had to loose weight in order to model with the agency. However, after losing a further 10kg, according to the Metro she was told she was still too fat and that they wanted her bones to stick out more.
Since this Rosalie has created a petition on Change.org calling for a new law to be created to protect models from becoming dangerously skinny. I have signed the petition and urge you to do the same as women should be represented in all forms in the modelling industry. They shouldn't under any circumstance be pressured into becoming dangerously skinny to the point where their health sufferers just for the sake of adhering to traditional beauty standards.
